I have the smaller Otter hub and I really like it. It is a bit smaller than I would like and can be a tight fit with lots of gear and two people. The quality of the Otter is tough to beat. I am a Frabill guy through and through with numerous flip-over houses by them and their quality is close, but not as good as Otter. I think you’ll be happy with either choice.

I would recommend the Otter brand because of the shell. The shell does an amazing job of blocking the wind and light as well as having 600 denier thermal layer to keep it very warm on the inside.
I ran the lodge size last year and with a family of 4 it was perfect size. I could see the Cabin size to be ideal for 2 people fishing or solo fishing and the lodge for 3 or more.
Either size I think you will be very happy with the Otter Hub house

I have (had) Clams over the years and once upon a time they were quite good. Not so much anymore, not bad but poorer quality. That being said, I have heard nothing but highly favorable ratings for the Otter brand. Things to consider are how much you use or abuse, meaning heavy use and how long you end up keeping. I don’t use mine all that often and then depending on if it’s just myself or with a group I’ll be rotating different ones. And then it seems every year there is a new “latest and greatest” being offered. The last one I bought was end of season discontinued model that was half the price it was the previous fall.

I picked up a lodge last year and it is high quality I fished out of it by myself so, tons of room. I’m sure it would be great for 2-3.

Only complaint I have is it would be nice if they made the removable windows with a larger/wider velcro border to give you a little wiggle room. Once you get the hub up and staked down nice and tight, if you remove the windows I found them hard to put back on.

If Otter came out with replacement windows with a larger velcro border I’d pick up a set for my hub.

I ran into this same problem with Frabill shelters so it’s not exclusive to Otter.

I bought a resort hub last year. I’m pretty hard on my gear. The quality seems like it will stand up to the wear and tear of myself and my two tornadoes that usually accompany me. I would suggest going big. When they fold down its not that much bigger or heavier, and I’ve never heard anybody complain about too much room.

Definitely second that! When they advertise holds 4-6, figure 3 people with room for gear and being able to move around without stepping stuff!

I have the cabin hub… you can squeeze 2 guys in but most of your gear will need to stay outside. It’s a perfect 1 man

I am a huge Otter fan! bought a cottage flip over last year and I love it, however it seems there are some issues they need to work out with the hubs. My friend bought one last year and one of the support poles snapped. My other friend bought one and has had zipper issues. Im sure otter will figure it out and their service/support is excellent but I cant say I would recommend the hub. I myself, bought a Polar Bird last year and I couldn’t be happier. They also guarantee their poles and hubs for life.
