Ice Reports

Does anyone know if any ice is formed or is forming around SE Minnesota? Just wanted some ice updates.

It is happening! In ponds not affected by the howling winds, many have skimmed over. Still a week away before I check for myself. With the forecast i seen, there will be ice made daily. Hope the winds die down and the snow stays away and i assume some will be out in the next week or so.

I can tell you that the smaller bays on Lake Minnetonka have iced over last night.

Feels like its making a little more every hour. Now if that wind would keep down.

Saw a couple in eagan frozen over this morning.

Mallalieu in Hudson, Wi was completely ice covered today. More should follow after weekend snow.

I have a buddy that went about 15’ out from shore last night checking the ice. It’s hard to tell from the pictures he sent me. But it looks like there were a couple of inches. That was as far his rope would take him. He also was dragging his kayak with him. Keep the ice coming!

This was on lower Prior Lake.

I checked the ice where I wanted to fish tomorrow and there wasn’t enough. Maybe 3/4 inch. I could walk on it but it didn’t pass the spud test. NW wis. Looks like I’m Grouse hunting this weekend.

I got about 2″ checking a small metro lake tonight.
