Most models are predicting temps 10 degrees warmer than average.
I hope they are wrong.

Heaven forbid its one of those winters where the temps just hover around the low thirty’s. I cringe at the thought of that dreary, damp, too warm for ice, too cold to do other things. Its depressing enough to drive a man to drink. Hopefully you have a good woman to help you through those tough times.
Ya, I’m expecting to be using the boat well into December this year. Rather be on hard water in December, but at least I should be able to fish
I love the open water fishing and dick hunting bring on the warm weather!

Hahaha, that is what you call a layup.
Honestly, I’d be fine with low 30s all winter. As long as the river stays open here, I’m happy.
I built this Aluminum sled last year and I only use it until we are driving on the ice. Looks like Ill be getting more use out of it this year. It’s light and easy to pull.
Sure, the one year I decide to finally get back into ice fishing and am trying to get amped up about it. And there won’t be any ice for some time.

Nice! I really like this idea. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you use for the floor?
I knew a blonde that tried ice fishing ,she was killed when she was run over by the zamboni.
Here in Northern Saskatchewan, the small lakes usually have enough ice to walk on by the middle of November. That won’t be happening this year. Looking at the forecast, it’s hard to believe that any lakes will have enough ice even by Dec 1 unless things change in a hurry. I winterized my boat and started getting my ice gear ready in late October like usual, but now I’m thinking I might need to pull my open water stuff back out for a bit because the water is going to be soft for a while yet.
Good thing extended forecasts outside of about 5 days aren’t accurate at all!
Oh man that will teach me to proof read my message before hitting send! Ouch I was going for duck hunting.
I’m looking forward to some December full moon trolling. C’mon stay 40 degrees!

Sure sure.
It would be nice if the long range forecast took a drastic turn towards a colder November.
maybe we should form a pact and all agree to sell our trucks and buy a prius. I think we can get this global warming turned around before thanksgiving
