I launch often at St. Croix Bluffs to fish this area, but have never been on the ice around there. Can anyone share what they might know about ice conditions there? I’d think people walk out from Pt. Douglas, correct? Thanks!

Not sure about that exact location, but overall the ice on the St. Croix must be really thick. I have never seen so many vehicles on the ice on both sides of the river when we went over the Hwy 36 bridge. It was a city of vehicles between the bridge and the power plant area. I suspect quite a few are trying to hook a sturgeon right now.

    I was there 2/22. Measured 16-17 inches.

The area you are referring to is NOT the same as the Bayport area. The stretch south of the Hudson swing bridge is a travel at your own risk situation, most definitely not on a vehicle.

You can walk out at point douglas, but the ice thickness varies greatly here.

Thanks. Went out on foot on Sunday. Lots of vehicles though and about 19″
