Did not see the rod actually ‘tip down’ so not sure how this is better than a rod holder. Problem I have with a rod holder is with the bail closed I’m afraid Mr. pike is going to run away with the rod and reel. Finicky Fooler? (read your mind) have one and like it, its sensitive but not as sensitive as a TD. TD are a hassle because you have a line mess after every fish.

Exactly, these are rod holders that never tip down. The wood one at the end by the kid is a tip down. Maybe with the included rod the would work better?

Use a Hi=Vis line with tip downs so you can see the line. I add a safety line that is connected to the frame and the butt of the pole with eye screws so you dont lose them down the hole.

Out of curiosity, what is the cost of these?
