Hi all,
Ive been searching the web and youtube to no avial to find the info i need on wiring an enclosed trailer that i would like to use at my hunting lease, and for the occasional trip on the ice. It is going to be bare bones nothing fancy.
2 interior lights
1 exterior door light (maybe)
3 outlets to charge phone and for small tv
No electricity needed for heater
At the lease i can plug in from an outlet in a barn. I would also like to be able to plug in from a generator if i were to take it on the ice one day.
How do i do this? Every video or forum i read is very different.
I want to run from the barn (or generator) and plug into the side of the trailer. Have 120v for outlets and lights, or put the lights only on a 12v system if its not complicated. I do not need huge batteries or solar panels. The electrical will ONLY be used if i am plugged in to the barn or a generator. Will not be needed aside from that. Heater does not require electricity.
What do I need from start to finish?
Do i need an rv style breaker panel (30 amp)? Fuses? Invertor or converter? What guage wiring? (I was planning to wire it in 14/2 as the barn circuit is 15 amp) Is there a one do all system thats not crazy complicated? Most of the wiring i see people doing is way overboard for the few lights and outlets i need.
If I am missing something for safety please let me know.
Please feel free to post specifically what you do.
