Has anyone seen in person this new auger yet? Here are the specs I pulled off of their website. Seems pretty interesting.
    Icegator’s Revolutionary 9.5 Auger

Industries first fully machined cutter head makes for smoother drilling.
Industries first dual flight system, gives you the ability to drill straight through 36” of ice without pulling up to remove the shaved ice.
Industries first auger with flights that can be added or removed as ice changes in depth.
Patent Pending cutter head designed for easy re-drilling of old holes and makes for less torque on user.
Light weight! This bit only weighs 4Lbs. complete.
Can be attached to your gas auger drive. By doing so will drop the weight for your gas unit 10 lbs.or more. Gives you the ability to just drill straight through deep ice without pulling up to relieve the shaved ice. Also makes for re-drilling old holes supper easy.

Worth taking a look, I hope they have some at the Ice show this weekend.

And I thought the SM was ugly…Saw this last year but heard no feedback. Very interesting.

Those Gators cut fast, but they are expensive and I’ve heard just as many horror stories as success stories with their customer service…

I was more curious about this statement from their website: Can be attached to your gas auger drive. By doing so will drop the weight for your gas unit 10 lbs.or more. Gives you the ability to just drill straight through deep ice without pulling up to relieve the shaved ice. Also makes for re-drilling old holes supper easy.

I would like to see one of these augers on a solo and see what it can do.

He had/has the worst customer service of any auger company EVER !! Then he comes out with a new one, makes it the highest priced auger on the market and then he expects to sell them ?

Has anyone used their bit on your unit?

Shave off 10 lbs? How much does a typical auger bit weigh? Seems like a stretch, but if I could get my Lazer Mag down into the 15 lbs range I’d definitely consider it.

It’s very fast indeed. But the 42v ice gator powerhead is heavy w/battery it comes out to 21-22lbs as far as I remember. This is without the drill bit which depending on size can add another 5lb-10lbs+.

Looks very similar to my K-Drill…if it performs as good then he will have something with his price point, well below the Vexilar / K-Drill.

Why would anyone ever trust this company again?

So what are you saying, that you would never re-marry a previous ex wife?

Lots of negative comments here from those that did not own a Icegator and/or experienced bad service. Some of those negative comments are from Einstiens that have trouble with the zipper on their pants.
The Icegator auger cuts holes in the ice “faster, cleaner, and with less noise than all of the others.

I did try to buy one about 4 years ago. Never did get a reply from the company. Since then I’ve got a Nils power auger and a Clam/ Milwaukee set up. They sure look good in the video’s that I’ve seen. I wish them well.

I bought one of their earlier versions. Sent the unit back twice for repairs and the 3rd defect on the auger ended up breaking my hand. Talked to the owner and he flat out told me that the design was horrible and there was nothing he could do for me. Bought an ion and haven’t looked back. The ice gators are fast but that’s it. Reliability is bad and service is worse.

I bought one, liked it as long at it worked. Then I got to experience the customer service. I did not enjoy that at all. Calls not returned, e-mails ignored, hand written letters ignored, and finally just plain lied to. So I guess if the new units are good, I’m glad my money helped keep the company in business. Oh, and my Ice Gator? It ended up in the recycling pile.
My thick ice auger now is powered by Tanaka, my thin ice auger by Milwaukee Fuel drill.

Same setups I have. They both work great. The proper tool for the job at hand.
