Hi guys, So my family bought some property near Bloomer WI, about 15 years ago. We finally now have the cabin built, and it is ready for this winter. My dad is 70, and I’d like to show hime him the best of the cabin and winter ice fishing in the area. He taught me to fish 40 years ago, now it’s it my turn to re-pay the favor. I have no idea what lakes are good in the area. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I really only fish with my dad and son, so I won’t give away any tips. I promise. Message me privately please. Thanks guys. We mostly fish Crappies. Thanks again to anyone that will help me out. Kev

Give the whole Chetek Chain a serious effort for ice fishing…

Fireside Lake, small lake, never ice fished it, really haven’t fished it in around 40 years, but I know it holds crappies yet, maybe worth a try, good luck !

Popple is another under the radar lake in that area for panfish

Old Abe on the Chippewa river is a little tougher to ice fish due to the moving water but the rewards can be great if the conditions are good.
