Ice Fishing Mono

Have a trip to LOTW in early February. I went to gander and they were all out of 6-8lb ice mono. I was looking for the Suffix ice. If I am fishing in a house (so cold will not be an issue) could I just buy normal mono? This would be for a bobber rod. Does ice mono have any different characteristics?
    Thanks in advance.

In a house you can fish anything. I can all but guarantee you could never tell the difference.

I have yet to buy “Ice” line….granted I’m usually at least in a heated portable but personally I kinda think its all to make more money.

I currently use plain sufix or pline product, 3 years now. I don’t like the wasted packaging.

I’ve never had much luck with mono’s. They always want to spring off the reel for me. Am I doing something wrong when I spool it on? No matter how I position the spool I always get the same result. Been using Berkley Nanofil and really like it, but expensive.
