I’m sure this question has been asked and answered before. But what is everyones go to specific brand and type of line? I always struggle with what to put on my rods for line. Does it change depending on what fish you are targeting? Such as panfish, crappies, perch or walleye?

I like p-line fluoroice. 3,4, and 6 lb covers all my rods.

I prefer suffix ice magic. It seems more flexible when cold compared to some other mono lines

    Until p-line comes out with a Hi_Vis Gold 3# floroice I’ll stick to 2# Stren Hi-Vis Gold.
I just bought a small spool of 3# floroice and I cannot believe how strong it is. However, for long rodding, I know it’ll be impossible to see it against the side of the hole.

I would have to say for me it’s either Sufix Ice magic or Sufix Invisiline. They both seem to stay flexible on the coldest days.

For ice fishing the only line I use is trilene x sooth casting because I have always had good luck with getting very few knots but I’m always in a heated shack unless it around freezing so I don’t know much about ice build up on the line

x2 on the Stren #2 Hi-Vis gold, IMO best mono ice line ever but I can never find it anymore. Do they still make it? Until I find more #3 Sufix Ice Magic is the closest I can come to Stren’s silky smoothness and the #3 has kept me from loosing the pricier tungsten jigs I now use almost exclusively. #2 with lead jigs wasn’t as painful with break offs.

I fish flouro only in the winter. The water is always clearer, so I figure it will be the most invisible. 4# or 6# for wallies (depending how well I trust my drag on the reel that I am spooling up) and 2# on my panfish rod. In the summer I am a bassman and will only use Seagur flouro and powerpro braid. Therefore, I stick with what I trust and use Seagur Abrazix Ice Flouro (If I can find it). I have been known to use the Berkeley Flouro though I have seen some fraying if it is stretched too much.

A well-stocked Fleet Farm should have Stren Gold. And you can get it in the large spools.

I must only make it to the non well-stocked Fleet Farms. Unfortunatey I’m in Farm & Fleet territory and the clost FF is at least an hour away but I still get most my stuff there when I don’t buy online. Pick some up for me and throw it this way, I could only find 4# Stren hi-vis gold online. I want 2 or 3!
