Ice Fishing in Mill Creek, OH?

To be honest, I’ve never been ice fishing before. But there is a creek behind my house that I always catch nice little (or big, haha) fish out of. Do you think a basic creek that leads to the Ohio River will do good for ice fishing?

Are you talking about what was once called the “Great Open Sewer”?

Eric, with just a quick goog, I found a pretty good supply of info, but I bet your best source will be a local bait shop.

I might be surprised and someone will jump in here with some personal knowledge of the creek, but don’t hold your creek chub out of the water for too long waiting for that info.

Other then that, get your but out there and fish it. )

I’m not sure if it freezes over or not, but know ice before you head out and take a friend and some rope along. (from what I saw it’s pretty shallow).

Might want to see if there’s trout in there and if it’s legal to fish at the time of year you’re thinking.

There. Lots of typing and I told you nothing. That’s why I would have made a good Governor. )
