Hi guys. I’m overdue for a new ice suit. Looking at the Striker Climate jacket and bibs. I live in River Falls, WI. The website does not say where I can go to try these on. Is there a store in the Minn/St.Paul area that carries this? I’d just order, but I’m in-between a Large and an XL size. I’d love to try them on before spending $500 on this.

    THoughts anyone?

I own the Climate just after it first came out. IF you went by the sizing chart on their web site and did an actual cloth tape measurement of yourself, I would go up one size. They will take returns but you may have to pay shipping if it is not an exchange for an other size. For instance I ordered 3 seperate sizes of gloves and kept the 1-xl and 2-xl, I returned the 3-xl I paid to ship the 3-xl back for credit.

I’d try Thorne Brothers in Blaine (763-572-3782)
They are having their portable mod event soon, maybe save a few bucks…

This is a good idea – I haven’t been for 4-5 years but the event was always fun, they usually have some good presentations, and have had some nice discounts.

Looks like the event is on Sep 29th this year, good luck if you go.

I’m also in between L and XL, but usually lean towards L. My father has a XL climate suit and I found it way too baggy in most areas. I’ve found the sizing to be very consistent with other brands, as I wear a L Frabill I4’s. Not sure if that helps any…

I’m 5’9″ and 200lbs, the Medium predator bib fits great! I usually just wear a sweatshirt under and thermal pant. I had an XL and it was way too big.

Thanks everyone for the valuable info. Very appreciated. I happen to know the folks at Thorne Bros well. I’ll call up there, and perhaps attend the Sept event. Or hit the ice show in the cities. Thanks again very much.

This helps me a lot…thanks canoebasser. I’m the exact same height but about 15 pounds fatter. lol

Last year I bought a Hardwater coat and was almost ready to pull the trigger on XL Predator bibs at the newly opened Sportsman’s Warehouse a few weeks ago that were last years carryover without trying them on. I was tempted because they were $10 less than this years price.

    Glad I held back. crazy

I’m 5’11 175 and wear 34-34 pants, and large was just a little too baggy for me, medium was perfect, if that helps at all.

    Kevin,
Give a call and make arraingement to stop up to Striker, they are just a short drive north of you in Hudson Wi !!

    Striker Ice Location Hudson Wi
They may be able to let you try on some right there at the office.. Then you would be able to make sure everything is all dialed in !!

I started out with the Climate and found that I never ever used the liner pants and jacket that come with.. This stuff is AMAZING !!! I dropped down a level and went with the Predator and am extremely happy with this set up..

Either way I’m sure your will be most satisfied with the Striker Ice !!

Hi guys, Turns out Cabelas in Woodbury carries Striker clothes. I called today. They start getting shipments in 2 weeks. That’s only 25 miles for me, so I’ll do that. I want to know what size I need, then can shop around. The St.Paul Ice Show starts Nov 30th. Might be a good place to get a deal.
    Thanks everyone.

Dave, I thought the Hardwater was a level down from the Climate with the Predator at the lowest level. At least that’s what it seems based on pricing and product description.
I bought a Hardwater jacket last year and absolutely love it. Best $$ I spent on anything in some time.

But yes, as you say…will be most satisfied with any of the Striker products.

I was in there for their Grand Opening back in July or August. I was surprised at the time they already a Striker display set up. Looking through it I figured it was last years carryover and I only found XL Predator bibs. Were you in there recently and do they have more sizes available now?
