I heard a wide crack broke open this morning on the west side in front of garrison. Heads out, and then comes back in and ends on Seguchi point. Anybody have more info on this?

Glad I got off yesterday. razz

But yeah, this happens every year when the temp swings. Red Door was putting in the bridge in front of their access this morning, (which they have to do every year) because of the big heave they get.

This morning Beachside had to close their road out to the main lake because of a 4′ heave.

    Here’s a pic of the Garrison crack…

We’re going out of the east side this weekend. Hope we don’t see any ice shenanigans like that!

With warmer temps this weekend the sheet will be expanding some. Good chance there will be some heaves happening.

Damn thats a good one! we had one blow about 30 yards from our house on UPRL when some clown decided to drive his dad’s truck over an active crack years ago and man did that scare the daylights out of a bunch of us. water gushing everywhere! let’s just say he was not coming back the same way. to those willing to risk it all, think of your family first.

I’ve heard the crack is up by Garrison and heaved up at least 4′ down by Brandt’s on the south side. The East side was spared.. For now!

T-Minus 4 hrs and I’m on my way!!

Temps actually look very stable all through the weekend. I would hope and think that should reduce more shifting?

Sounds like that crack really screws over the Garrison Sports and Terry’s Boat Harbor resorts. Their struggles to get roads going just took a major setback, made even worse with the prolonged forecast of warmth ahead.

I heard it cuts from Seguchie Point north past Pike Point and cuts right through Garrison Reef. I don’t know if it goes south of Seguchie towards Browns.
