I am looking to head out on some lakes in Burnett or Polk County this weekend. Saturday is going to be a high of 42 with an overnight low above freezing and Sunday they are calling for rain and a high in the upper 40s. Last weekend I measured 8-12 inches of solid ice. Do you think this weekends warm-up and rain will making fishing more unsafe? I am thinking Saturday will be fine but Sunday is somewhat concerning. I would also we willing to drive farther north on Sunday, if I can find better conditions. Have fun this weekend, to all who venture out!

That little warm up will not affect 8-12″ of ice. I plan on fishing all weekend in west central around lacrosse and eau claire.

The shoreline might See a little melting but nothing major. It’s been making ice every night.
