People ragging on Ice Castle quality reminds me of that old Yogi Berra quote: “Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded”.

With the amount of Ice Castles you see on the road at all times of the year now, you’d better trust that people are happy with them. It’s like people who refuse to buy a domestic Chevy or Ford because they one they had in 1999 was a junker. Yeah, and those car makes are at or exceed the quality of the foreign auto makers now.

The other thing that think about is that RVs in general are far from flawless. They are thrown together very quickly in an assembly line setting.

Not sure I’m with you on this. Honda and Toyota still make better cars in general than the domestics

I don’t believe fish say I’m not biting that guys bait because he’s in “ice castle”… I think the newer ones are pretty decent, they all have there flaws. When you think about the abuse they take even when there taking care of, extreme cold bouncing down a ice road, to being warmed up and the cooled. Really surprising how well some of the stuff handles that. Converters, furnaces etc.. I recently bought a new to me wheel house and shopped around and the biggest thing the ice castle dealers said was to get one with the new model frames if going used route, can’t remember the year that changed.

Never been impressed with their quality

Really?? When was the last time you spent time in one? They are literally nicer than most peoples actual houses?

What would impress you? Marble countertops and mahogany cabinets with a gloss finish? rotflol

Its a fish house!! All it has to do is raise and lower and tow nicely down the road? They are spray foamed so they are super warm… please explain how you could not be impressed?

well first impression was at an ice show in 2015 when they brought the bread and butter edition for thousands of people to walk through. I ran my hand along the walls and got splinters from the poor install. nails were popping in corners too. at least run a sander on that $h!t if you are bringing this to the biggest ice event in Minnesota.
    WAIT THERE’S MORE!
few years ago i wired in some led rattle reels in a buddy’s 2019 castle. pulled the lights out to see how to tie in the reels to the existing floor lighting and the wiring install was as scab as it gets. wire nuts were the wrong size and basically fell off as I pulled the lights out. maybe being in the IBEW for almost 30 years, i would expect better from a company this successful?
i could care less about the countertops, im just calling it like i see it. it looks good on the surface but when you see shortcuts it makes a guy wonder. good luck with yours Joe. i wouldn’t buy one unless it was a smokin deal but that’s me.

I will say Out on the lakes you see more ice castles than any other brand. I think a lot of it has to do with pricing but they must be doing something right

Well, for better or worse I took the plunge and she’s mine. It’s a 2020 8×21 extreme hybrid RV. It should serve well as my up north Wisconsin cabin on wheels.

Tomahawk. Right off of Lake Alice, a flowage on the Wisconsin River. My nephew and I have 40 acres up here and manage it for deer.

Nice shack I’m in Merrill and camp near Minocqua. Ice fish Alice a few times during. It gets really busy out there at times.
