Very disappointed with this product as its now my second pair where the quanlet portion ripped with only my second time using. The material started to unravel at the seam. Once again back to Mills Fleet Farm to get money back. Anyone else run into this issue? I paid big dollars thinking about quality and reliability. I thought ice armor was a good quality brand. Giving up, What brand to try next. Any suggestions?

I have these mittens and love them. I never have had an issue with them until I literally wore them out.
February 2, 2016 at 7:46 pm #1597432I too have given up on ice armor because of the quality. DO NOT even think about buying their boots. Unless you want to spend $160 on a new pair of boots every season. Try the striker climate gloves/mittens. $45 and I love them. You can tell when you pick them up they are quality made.
dairycatPosts: 169February 2, 2016 at 8:12 pm #1597437I have the Edge mittens. Cheaper of the two, going on six years strong. Use them in the boat and on the ice a lot. So far so good, will definitely buy another pair.
likes2fishPosts: 21February 2, 2016 at 10:15 pm #1597463I’ve also had the issues you listed above except mine were not the mittens but the gloves. When the first pair tore I thought it was more of a fluke or I could have caught it on something but the second pair tore the first trip out in the same area. I will be looking for a different brand of gloves as well.
WarEaglePosts: 210February 3, 2016 at 12:31 am #1597481I actually have their boots as well. My feet never get wet and my feet are always warm as well.
February 3, 2016 at 8:02 am #1597505I hate to give up on the brand but I want something to last for at least a season. Any other brands to consider?

Here’s a similar thread I started about a month ago about their gloves. Had the same problem as you with several pairs.
WarEaglePosts: 210February 3, 2016 at 4:26 pm #1597667I don’t know what you guys are doing to your gloves, or if there are that many lemons out there, but I have their extreme ice suit. My suit is 7 years old, I never get cold and I am always dry. With that being said I have their leather boots as well. Those are approaching 5 years old. I am not scared to punch holes with me power auger and fling/throw water up on my suit and boots as I always stay dry and warm in them all day. My extreme gloves, I have bought 6 pairs 4 years ago and I am only on the second pair because I lost the first pair. I bought six pairs because I got them all on eBay for $120 shipped. My hands stay dry and warm, but I can tell that they are getting thinner. If you did get a couple lemons from them call them. Give them a chance to make it right. Most company’s will. If not, that’s when you cut ties. I have approached several organizations with things that don’t work as advertised and the ones that bend over backwards to keep you are the ones you stay with. I haven’t had to do this yet with Ice Armour.
bromanPosts: 235February 3, 2016 at 9:01 pm #1597714Yep, same here. My Ice Armor X gloves unravel as well. Stupid choice of material IMO.
dairycatPosts: 169February 3, 2016 at 9:56 pm #1597726Im hard on everything, so far my mitts, gloves and hats are great. Maybe get a hold of them and tell them what’s going on… I’m sure they will listen. They sell a TON on products, most are top notch. They compare to all top brands, I can vouch for that!!!

February 4, 2016 at 8:31 am #1597777For the price I’m very disappointed. Have their gloves and mittens. The gloves are the worse as the fingers have come undone. The mittens are newer and better so far but don’t expect them to last much longer.
February 4, 2016 at 9:43 am #1597791I talked to a worker at Scheels in Cedar Falls, Iowa and he told me that this is the last year they will be carrying Ice Armour gloves because they get too many returns. All the same thing, the gloves unraveling on the seams. I wouldn’t say that I am hard on them at all. The last pair that I had was earlier this winter, I wore them one morning while shoveling and running the snowblower. They ripped in less than one hour. But after several pairs of the same thing happening, I switched over to a different brand for my “extreme warm type of glove.”
February 4, 2016 at 9:55 am #1597796I have found the same with the ice armors. Switched to Under Armour and have been very happy with them so far. For a mid-weight glove they are very warm

The gloves and mitts you show in your pic are not the version in question. The original poster is speaking of the X version of the mitts and gloves as am I.
I have the Clam Fleece Toque and a Clam Ice Armor Extreme (X) suit and love both of them. I also love their gloves for comfort and warmth. Just with the gloves that I have (in pic above) didn’t fall apart. The fabric choice for them is terrible as it is loosely woven.
February 5, 2016 at 6:43 am #1598031I am the type that purchases quality gear and I take exceptional care of my equipment.
I purchased a pair of ice armor gloves in December. Remember, ice conditions prevented me from getting on the ice until Xmas. After a few uses of normal ice fishing activity a tear or hole formed on my right hand pointer finger glove. I did not have a receipt. I contacted Ice Armor. The good news? They shipped me a new pair. The bad news? After a few outings I can tell the new gloves aren’t going to last. Junk. Over the years I have gradually and purposely stayed away form their brand in its entirety and have had no issues whatsoever in doing so with the gear I have replaced.
