Has anyone seen anything cool out of icast this year?

I have seen a new ice fishing spoon from Northland that has in insertable glow stick.

Also, Fenwick is coming out with a new HMG. (Explains why they are on sale everywhere)

It has already been posted in the ice forum, however for those that don’t visit it much in the off season, Marcum released the new Lithium Shuttle for their flasher units. Looks awesome!

I saw it too and it does look interesting. Kind of like a spinnerbait with more thump ?!? How else do you see it being unique/effective?

I’m a bit of a sucker for new lures and added the Red Crawfish version to my shopping basket on TW. Once I hit $50 and free shipping it will be on its way. Gee now if I could just figure out how to spend another $42 on fishing gear whistling

I’m going to buy @ralphwiggum one of those Yeti buckets!

Convinced yet? How is he not laughing his butt off like me in that video? And the kicker?

THE LID IS SOLD SEPARATELY! NO VAPOR LOCK, SO YOUR PAILS WON’T STICK TOGETHER! AND THE MOST DURABLE 5 GALLON BUCKET! I DON”T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS, BUT MY 5 GALLON BUCKETS ARE ALWAYS FALLING APART!

Seriously though, the little sleeve you can attach to it looks cool. That would be nice for shore guys on the river or a pond. You can leave the tackle box home and put it in the sleeve pockets and carry your bait in the bucket at the same time. That being said, I could probably MacGyver something for $10….including the lid.

Every single person I know who owns a Yeti, received it free. Didn’t pay a dime for it. Nice stuff, but way overpriced.

Yes they did. The price was just lumped in with that $500 cooler they just bought.

I agree the knuckle bait looks very interesting. Gonna have to get a couple of those.

I also am intrigued about the Strike King clear series of lures. I’ve always wondered how effective it would be. My curiosity is what if you make the bass react mostly on their lateral line “hearing” and very little on their eyes.

Received a free bucket? Was this new orders or did they reward past clients as well?

Yes they did. The price was just lumped in with that $500 cooler they just bought.

You misunderstood what I said. Every person I personally know who has a Yeti cooler, didn’t pay for it. They were given it as a product promotion, endorsement or gift from family member who didn’t know better and paid the outrageous price.
Guys I know who have bought a rotomolded cooler with their own cash, bought RTIC or one of the many other “knock offs” like Ozark Trail that are half the price.

The beginning of the marketing copy on Yeti’s website for that bucket:

Inspired by the elbow grease of our grandfathers. . .

You can leave my dead trucker/farmer grandfathers’ elbow grease out of your promo schpeel, YETI. Neither one would’ve been caught dead with a $40 bucket!

And “food safe?” Then where am I supposed to pee?! mrgreen

    And “food safe?”

Most of the free 5-gallon buckets I have are food safe because they originally contained pickles. Some even still smell of pickle. Try to emulate that, Yeti. rotflol

Firehouse Sub shops have the best pickle buckets, very thick heavy duty plastic, red and with a cool logo. They don’t give em away, but they only charge like $2. And yes, they do smell like pickles.

Anyone hear if Humminbird has a Gen2 or upgraded version of 360 Imaging in the works? The HD upgrade from old gps units to Helix is very nice. However 360 imaging hasn’t improved in terms of acuity I don’t believe. Would be nice to see it “catch up” so you can appreciate the Helix images on a 360 degree basis.

This is good info, thanks. And yes, my personal favorite is a Ba-Tampte kosher pickle bucket the FW and I found on a campsite on Rainy about 10 years ago.
