Arrived friday afternoon around two thirty, set up the tent, broke out the jack and waited out the weather.
Saturday morning the storms rolled in full force and I was questioning why I placed the tent so close to the trees.
Hmmm,ya,thats right, there isnt the thousand acres of open places here like home, duh!!!

Friday afternoon was a bust getting out as it was raining here fairly hard.
Saturday morning thanks to a warning from epg we were able to dodge the incoming weather in a tent instead of out on the lake, guys,I cant tell you how loud rain is even on a fabric tent, but trust me,it was deafening!!!
I wasnt the least bit worried about lightening, never would of heard it coming anyway.
We got into our cabin shortly after one in the afternoon,I was soaked, cold, and wondering if the whole weekend was going to end up like this.

Sunday night early I got out,too cold for Mrs. IB1 which is fine with me as it allowed me time to reconnect with where my soul calls home.
I gotta tell ya,the fishing turned on big time !! in an hour I caught at least forty northerns,no giants mind you but big enough to entertain a fellow and I kept seven to pickle once home.
In the same time frame I caught three walleyes,on crankbaits I had been casting for northerns non the less !!
I was looking at the clouds coming back in when it happened,I was freight trained by something big,big enough it nearly spooled me three times.
I am by myself, trying to keep the line tight, and, follow this thing with the main motor as it is outrunning me at a good clip.
No worries about my power pro line or my knots but I didnt want this thing tired beyond recovery,I wanted to land it quick.
Sadly I never got the chance, the last run it went deep into the weeds, rolled like one of Troys gators, spit the hooks and was gone, dang !! sure was a fun ten minutes !!! wish I could of seen it.
I gave up shortly after when the hair on my arms started standing straight out and the mono wouldnt stay on the water, thats a damn good indication you are ready to be fried beyond well done,I made it back to the dock when all hell broke loose.

The rest of the gang caught up with us saturday afternoon late and the usual bs started,up until today with virtually no winds the fishing has been very good for all, many perch, eyes, panfish, you name it except for crappie, they are here, just tight lipped.
baits we have been using are, jigs, rattle traps, lindys of all colors and styles have been producing in ten to seventeen feet of water depending on time of day and available winds.
so far,it seems we can do no wrong with what we try.

for those who have never met me,I am the taller one in the red shirt, and no,I am not bald, several years ago due to a chemical injury I put on a lot of weight fast, the top of my head split in the middle and went down the sides so I dont want to hear any s!!!.lmao.
My buddy Russ is the other guy,the fish on the table were caught in less than two hours of messing around.
once I figure out how to download the rest of the pics,I will add them here.

weeks end bs and reports soon, thanks all !!
