i-Pilot….need help

I recently bought the i-Pilot upgrade kit for my 2010 Terrova. I took the old head off and put the new one on.

So then I plugged it in and when I put the trolling motor down it beeped. Figuring this is normal function.

But, when I push buttons on the remote, nothing happens except all the icons on the little screen show up. I tried holding in the backlight button for the 3 seconds, but it doesn’t do anything.

I must be doing something wrong? I can’t find an online instructional video to help me out and it didn’t come with a user’s manual.

Any suggestions on how I can get that remote to unlock or start working?

i put a different head on my unit and it worked fine. do you have the right remote

Pretty sure it’s the right one. It came all packed in bubble wrap and is the same as listed for sale by other outfitters.

Pretty sure you have to get them to connect once. Can’t remember 100 percent but I feel I had to hold some buttons down.

So maybe I have to pair the remote to the motor head? I’ll have to Google that and see if MinnKota has online instructions.

Yes you have to pair the remote with the TM head. The newer Terrova have a pair button on the top of the head. Manual should have the steps necessary.

I have a 2013 terrova. If you need, i will dig out the owner’s manual. Let me know. The remote in your picture looks the same as mine.

That’s what I was thinking. Been a little while.

Found info on MinnKota’s site for pairing the motor & remote. Pushed the necessary buttons and got it to work.
