I-Pilot Link Question

Forgot my remote for the terrova today and also didn’t have the foot pedal. Is there a way to completely control the terrova through link with just my humminbird 999? I set a few tracks to follow but could not figure out how to get the prop spinning. That would be a pretty slick feature. Thank you in advance.

You would be able to move the cursor on the GPS screen
and then hit the go to button.
    choose either follow the contour
or the go to the spot.

Unfortunately, unless the speed is set already
    you won’t go anywhere
and I do not know of any way to change the speed using the HB

Actually, if you have the current software version you can run the trolling motor directly through the HB. In the latest SW update it allows you to turn a Prop Auto On which means that anytime you give it a navigation command the prop will come on automatically. To adjust your speed then you hit the Power button once on the HB and it will give you a Prop Speed option to adjust accordingly.

Is this for the legacy units as well?

Legacy usually refers to the old style Powerdrive which is not compatible with iPilot. This would apply to any iPilot Link system as all of them are software updateable. Standard iPilot would not have the connection to the HB so it wouldn’t operate in this way.

I think he was asking about the legacy HB sonars (799,899,999, etc) rather than the trolling motors.

Good point, those operations are available to all HB’s with up to date software as well I believe.

I’ve notice there is a prop menu that shows either on or off when I hit the power button (like to adjust brightness). Never played with it but I assume you can turn it on/off (and adjust speed?) Loke mentioned above. This is on an 1199 and 788 units.
