Cool… Hard to tell for sure if there is a tail that’s hidden by the hind leg, but just looking at the stance of the cat I’d put my $$ on a large Bobcat.

Scale is hard to determine without knowing distances/heights of various objects.

I’m with will, the shape says more bobcat than cougar. Not that I’m saying it couldn’t be a cougar, all of MN is cougar range now, so Brainerd certainly could have them.

My first glance gut reaction was bob. My second look close reaction is definitely bob.

    X2.

Always a slim chance it could be a hose cat.

Maybe Bob, maybe Lynx. Not anything else

Maybe its my monitor, but I can clearly see where the tail ends (with a thin line of white around it)

I have a “bobcat in heat” call in my boat.

    Don’t ask.

The stripes on the inside of the leg lead me to believe bobcat. But otherwise, the profile matches up well to a big cat.

How would a “cougar in heat” call work in the bars? Oh dear ~

In the interest of science, you should try it and post a report. This could go wrong is so many ways. If I were you, I’d be prepared to shoot your way out of the situation if necessary.

Use extreme caution with cougar calls…you never know what will show up
