Have never had it happen in my boat until last Sunday.

Took the wife out Walleye fishing, our location from the prior day was loaded with boats so I decided to head south on Pool 4,after Picking up 3 nice keepers and fighting the wind for 3 hours I decided to head back north and make one pass and call it a day, after I got on location the wife didnt want to fish anymore so I talked her into just putting her rod with a Denver Rig on in the rod holder and just watch it for me (it was to my back side so I couldnt watch it).

Towards the end of our last run she said there must be weeds on the rod she was watching and decided to reel it in.

Low a behold she had NO weeds but a DOUBLE on the Denver Rig.Tho they weren’t of the keeper size she was excited !

All I could say was “weeds smeeds some people have all the luck”

How many of you other fisherman have had this happen ?

I fish Dubuque rigs a lot and it happens about once or twice a year, and like your double, they are typically sub 15″ saugers. I think it happens when I go through an aggressive school of smaller fish. But several years ago my buddy had a pair of walleyes that went 20″ and 22″.
