To my list of companies not to buy from or their products. Making Kapernick this martyr disappoints me but doesn’t surprise me any more. Sacrifice is my son in law having to leave his wife and baby to return to active duty ten days after their first child is born. Sacrifice is the last thing to come to my mind when I think of him. So many other ways Nike could have gone to highlight sacrifice in this world. This is wrong.

He has become the poster child of being sure you think your actions through before committing to something. I will say you have to admire him for sticking to his beliefs. You may not agree with him but he hasn’t backed down. For that he has my respect.

I’m guessing middle aged white male isn’t the demographic they are aiming for in this campaign…

September 3, 2018 at 9:54 pm #1795217WTF…what, sacrificed everything????? What the f?? Like sacrificed not making millions of $$$ to play a game??? Which is millions more than 98% of the rest of the worlds population will ever see or know?? And the hypocrisy is how many millions of $$ Nike will pay him to be the poster child of injustice??
Sacrifice everything my a$$…BS!
The guy wearing the “toe tag” sacrificed everything because he sacrificed his life…he’s dead. Doubt he or his family got a million dollar “poor me” poster campaign from Nike.
I’ll just step away again.

September 3, 2018 at 10:34 pm #1795225Yeah this one is a kick to the gut. I love Nike, not because of the brand but because they make some of the most comfortable shoes. I can’t say I’m shocked at this though. Most of their support and sponsors support this movement. The part that bothers me the most with Kaepernick is that it’s so obvious that his terrible skill set is the reason he’s not in the league. Yet everyone is using his “cause” to make it bigger than it ever should have gotten.
No more Nike’s for me.
JonesyPosts: 1148September 3, 2018 at 10:41 pm #1795228Kepernick had one of the top selling nfl jerseys last year in spite of not playing. This is a calculated business decision by Nike and one that I expect will work in their favor. I mean come on let’s be serious you old dudes all wear new balance anyways

And add me to your sil’s gratitude!
I understand he (Casperdink) is is not trying to be disrespectful to bring attention to his cause BUT, he is doing it in a way THAT IS COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL!!!
And I take that very seriously!
Will someone please help me off my soapbox before I fall and break a hip.
September 4, 2018 at 6:42 am #1795244The third time he disrespected our tradition was the first time the media gave notice to his “protest” and his sacrifice started.
Well, other sacrifices were made that should have received much more attention. Just a portion of the namesthat made the ultimate sacrifice since Casperdick first took a knee. Sure would like to know how the families of these fallen soldiers feels about Nike.

September 4, 2018 at 6:52 am #1795246Thanks to everyone for the kind words with my son in law. I never get tired of hearing and saying it. It is a sacrifice for my family but nothing compared to those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty, be it military or those serving our communities.
September 4, 2018 at 7:13 am #1795249Everyone makes sacrifices. Some sacrifice on different levels. This is a non story just like the whole kneeling bit. I give him credit, he sure has gotten the publicity he wanted even though many disagree. I could give 2 $hits if they kneel or talk about his mission. He is a modern day Martin Luther King in his eyes.

If one started to dig into the actual mistreatment and abuse many companies do we wouldn’t have much to wear, eat or drink ethically. WW2 is a fun one to dig into

As big of a pos he may be, he has the right to not stand for the national anthem. Relating it to disrespect for our soldiers is only a guise to reinforce your disagreement with his cause.

Amen. This whole country was founded upon ideals the nod at our imperfection and our system of government was deliberately designed to provide a path to change. I wish we’d grow up as a nation to the point where respecting a person and their right to have a viewpoint on a topic and to express it as they wish does NOT mean one agrees with them.
It’s like we’ve regressed to a tribal, backward society where everyone who disagrees with me is seen as the enemy. At one point, weren’t we all on the same team?

I don’t think anyone ever said he doesn’t have the right. I agree 100% that he does. That always has to be protected.
FYI…..Nike stock is down $2.50 a share. The people are speaking in another form this AM.
gordonkInactivePosts: 53September 4, 2018 at 11:48 am #1795330He’s kneeling to protest the way minorities are being treated by the country not about what our soldiers are doing. That theory was started by our dear leader, Mr Trump.
The QB has my support. He at least is putting his mouth and money where his heart is and I support him 100%. https://www.salon.com/2018/01/18/colin-kaepernick-is-making-america-great/
The stock is down because the Dow is down over 100 pts and the Nasdaq is down over 50. You can blame the trade wars for that, not a quarterback who’s been black listed for his political views.
