I have a little Clam Scout I use early and late ice. Starting to wear down on the bottom. I don’t really want to spend the money and buy the hyfax kit since I only use it early and late.

Anyone have any other suggestions for the bottom?

    Thanks!

You could bolt a pair of skis directly to the sled. Or cut a 55 gallon drum into strips and attach them??

Go to goodwill or Salvation Army and get some old cheap cross country skis and cut them to length. On my sled I added a wood spacer between the skis and sled and my flip over shack I bolted them flush with the sled with no spacer. Cheap and works great.

I drilled holes in the sled and skis and used carriage bolts for the mounting

PVC garage door trim. Found at major hardware/lumber retailers. I’ve used this as ski guides on trailer but would work for hifax as well. PVC deck boards cut to preferred thickness on table saw would work also.
