Looking to purchase a heat recovery unit for my house I would be installing the unit myself, so looking for a good place to purchase one? Any models better then others? Thanks

I would check with Graingers. They seem to dabble in everything.

    Not really a DIY project.
    but,
Venmar is what you mostly see.
May be able to get one at Ferguson or online.
Typically they are wired in conjunction with your stat and can be set to cycle in a couple different modes. 20 minutes out of an hour period, constant low, etc.
Remember after install you need to have the system balanced.
Make sure you clean filters regulary.
Best left for a pro hvac person. IMHO

fyi – there a great appliance.

Yep totally understand the system balance and time running etc.. don’t want to spend ton on it right as adding on to house in spring and gonna redo the whole hvac system then, just trying to get moisture under control in house this winter. Thanks for tips

Ferguson is probably your best bet. Grainger is ridiculous on there pricing.

If the 2 quotes are close, than that’s the going rate. IMHO

Have a couple smaller companies out to do an estimate. They are typically cheaper than the larger places who have to pay for advertising and unions.

But to answer your question HVAC is not cheap.
