Looking to stock up on rapala husky jerks for spring walleye on stained water rivers. What size is better #12 or #14? Is the #14 too large for spring? I already have a stock pile of #10 size.

14 is not to big from what Ive seen. Might even go bigger.

I’ve come to the conclusion there is no too big.

Nhamm, I respectfully disagree! I have yet to catch a walleye on this size (29″). wink

The hooks that come on the size 29” are not very sharp or good. Have you tried changing them out?

#14 is not too large. That said sometimes I do have better success with a #12 earlier in the season. If only enough money for one size, get the #14. In my best producers then I got matching #12.

I use primarily 14’s – suspending. I don’t think it really matters tbh. It’s more about the pause in the Spring time.

I primarily use ddhj 12s for walleyes mostly on Lake Erie.
