If I just look at Garmin the Montana 600 looks like my choice however my real concern now, and the only thing that would put it above my H2O, is whether or not I can buy map chips that show all WMA’s and WPA’s. I have an old chip in my H2O that shows that info but is out of date. Does anyone know of what unit and what maps would contain this sort of info?

Have you checked out the smartphone apps? The whole seperate device/chip thing is dying fast.

I’ve been using Navionics and backcountry navigator on my Droid and the work great. Added benefit is cutting on what I carry and software is always up to date.

I use just a basic etrex 20. Add a chip from huntinggpsmaps.com and I am good to go. Smartphone apps are good for day hunts. The chip from huntinggpsmaps.com give me property lines, topo, and land owner names. Plus updates are simple.
