Some buds and I were finally able to hook up for some sporting clays yesterday. The weather sucked, but man, I forgot how fun that is.

My friend let me shoot his Benelli Vinci–what a sweet shooter! Talk about a difference from my Remington 1100 with the English stock, though. Both nice guns, but very different.

Did it include a rabbit shot on the ground?

The rabbit is one of the stands that gets into my head. The longer I have to think about it, the worse I shoot. If I shoot first on the rabbit and just swing and shoot, I powder them. If I stand there and watch and think about it for a while, I almost always overestimate the swing through and shoot in front.

I can’t divulge that info. Too many pheasants will die from fright.

Are you saying that you shot close enough to 50 clay pigeons that several of them fell apart from sheer terror?

    Where did you go?

The last time I shot sporting clays was S. Saint Paul. I enjoyed the course.
