• Why – We are participating in a true ultimate challenge – hiking 25.5 miles of the Superior Hiking Trail in just one day. The event is Saturday August 24, 2013. The money we raise will support CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a national non-profit foundation whose mission is to fund and support targeted and innovative children’s cancer research, with measurable results. In addition, they are the authoritative source for information resources about children’s cancer for families and their support systems. A lot of these funds are awarded to both the Mayo Clinic and University of MN right here in Rochester. Seven of the 36 children diagnosed every day do not survive. Please, support us as we help change the odds for those children most at risk. Thank you for helping us work to ensure that one day, every child diagnosed with cancer will be guaranteed a cure.
• Who – Our team is dedicated to and in honor of the three most heroic boys that we will ever know — Kaden Tjossem, Will Canan, Will Dickes. Each battled cancer long and hard but in the end they were taken from us. They showed us what true strength, courage, resilience, and love was and we dearly miss them. Logan Tjossem, Tom Canan, and Steve Dickes along with Bob Pries are hiking the Ultimate Hike to raise awareness of Pediatric Cancer and to raise money in the battle of Pediatric Cancer. Hiking 25.5 miles on the Superior Hiking Trail is nothing compared to what these three boys endured and we hope we are up to the challenge.
• What we Still Need – Door Prizes and/or Silent Auction Items.
CureSearch is a Non Profit Organization – Their 501C3 Number is 95-4132414, so any Donation you give us is 100% Deductable.
