Well it’s official…I am moving from Southern WI to Nashville TN. Good thing they have lots of deer, turkeys and fish to chase…how would you guys pack a shoulder mount deer for a transport of that length? I really want to take caution when moving it. Thanks

That far of a trip I would contact your taxidermist and see what he suggests. He might have pre made boxes to support everything.

I agree, they probably ship stuff all the time. Otherwise I’m envisioning a wood frame that has multiple cross members/support. The mount would basically be “hung” on one side with the proper supports added around it accordingly. Then I’d probably wrap the whole structure in 1/8″ plywood.

I’d wrap in a furniture blanket and put in the passenger seat side of the truck with the seat belt on it.

I would either do the front seat idea or for about $30 take to a shipping company that has “foam in place” equipment. They put it in a large cardboard box, foam under, around and on top of the mount which is encased in plastic to keep the foam off of it. It would be in 2 parts so you can easily separate it when unpacking.
