    COST effective!

That reconditioned unit will last a long time at a low price.

My first Marcum was a reconditioned LX-3…then the FW said she liked red better…so I bought a reconditioned LX-5.

Full warranty AND they work and look like new!

BK, Where did you get yours at? The ones I have found come with a 90 day warranty.

Warranties might of also changed with the sale of Marcum to Nature Vision.

I can’t comment on the duration of warranties on a reconditioned unit but I do know that Nature Vision is offering a Flat-Rate repair service on all flashers that is only $45 per unit. So if that refurbed unit was to run into an issue outside of the warranty period, whatever it is, the most it could cost you for the repair would be $45.

That flat-rate repair price goes for all MarCum flashers that are outside the warranty period.

Thanks for the information. I have nothing bad to say about Marcum as I was the owner of a LX-3 and now am a prowd owner of a LX-5. When I sold the lX-3 to someone else he has some issues, sent it up to them (before sale to Nature Vision) and $30 later he basically had a new LX-3. They have always taken care of me.

I have a friend who just upgraded snowblowers.

He is selling his old one. Ariens 24″ 8 hp with tire chains. In good condition. ~23 years old.

    What is the value?

I would be using this as “backup” to my ATV/plow. Might be nice to have a second option for drifting and tight spots and such.

    Thanks!!

I would sel a 23 year old snowblower of that size to a friend for $50 or less. To a stranger $75 or more.
I was in that position. My neighbor sold it to me for $25. After several years of use I gave it to a friend.

What kind of shape is it in? In decent shape, I could see it going for $150-$200 easily. Those are great machines.

Of course, for you, $50 seems reasonable.

I just sold one on CL for 275.00 no chains but it had Electric start. So price is dependent on how much your friend likes you

An Ariens will hold its value a little better than a cheap brand. If its in good shapes its worth $150 plus.

$200-$300 would be my estimate of what it would go for on Craigslist, but that’s in prime time (November-Feb) and assues it’s in good to very good condition.

Subtract from there the fact that we’re at the end of winter and if condition is less than very good. And then it’s what kind of deal is your buddy willing to give you.

I’m thinking that 8 HP is going to be a Tecumseh engine, which was a good motor. Very sad Tecumseh is out of business, but parts are still widely available and common stuff like carb kits has long been made by aftermarket companies, so there won’t be parts issues for a long time.
