Looks like a decent sized kitty.

Hopefully Mn is more proactive with cougars than some states west of us were. Between wolves and cougars, the effects on other game species could be hugely detrimental if they don’t stay in front of them.

I hope you are right!!! I see the northern parts of Minnesota having a very similar look and feel of the Black Hills. Short of the altitude changes of course. But lots of tall pines etc… Seems like a good place for them to take up residence.

The cats have done a number on the elk in the Hills. They are trying to kill 100 a year out there now, but they are struggling to even meet half the quota. I sure hope they don’t take hold here.

Sure seems like they would root in northern Min and Wis. Maybe not enough deer after wolves and bonus tags?

I like the idea of them but knowing cat behavior Im not sure I want a gigantic cat sharing the woods with me?

The thing about a kitty, you’ll never know what hit you and be dead before you can squeal.

Each cougar sighting makes it less and less likely for me to get my sister-in-law to go get me beer from the garage at the cabin!

I’ve yet to see one in the wild, but I’m told it’s truly a hair raising experience.

This was from a pretty close encounter I had with a cougar in January. Thank God the Ft. Worth Zoo keeps good tabs on it!

That’s not to far from our Farm, I shutter to think of the early morning walk with one of them in the woods

Tell me about it. My wife is getting skeered to go riding up north. Especially quads. Didnt help that last year while quad riding I saw “something”. Should have kept my mouth shut…

Just watched the video. Floyd got a little worked up hearing the hounds.

Back in 1987, there was a known, breeding pair of cougars residing in the Blue Hills State Forest near Rice Lake, WI. The DNR was “monitoring” the pair and was asking people to leave them alone if they came across them because they wanted to see if they’d establish in the area or not. They did have kittens and a den for mom to raise them in. Then one day…… they all “disappeared”…… magically.
