I just recieved a huge box of moose and elk meat from my bro. Includes all cuts along with burger and sticks. The moose sticks are excellent. Cant wait to try the whole cuts. I have never had moose and only once had elk.

Never had moose, but I’ll do many illegal things to get my hands on some elk meat.

No. Just sharing for conversations sake. It was a shock to get it. I knew he got them and saw pics but had no idea he was shipping me some from Michigan. If you lived closer I would give you some.

I was thinking the same thing. The original post had a definite whiff of the gloat about it. A sort gloatesque quality, if you will.

Zuke, in the future, why not just come out and say, “I got Bowinkle Burgers and you ain’t got none,” rather than all this obfuscation?

BTW, I would rather eat elk burgers than beef. For some reason, I just love the flavor of elk for burgers. Throw on some Weber Burger Master seasoning and blue cheese. Dammit. Now I’m hungry.

Obfuscation: Ob-fu-ska-tion. Verb. A lame attempt to perpetrate a stealth gloat.

One of my college roomates was from Alaska. He said he thought he was going to have to become a vegetarian when he got to college because beef and pork all tasted strange to him.

He was used to moose, caribou, and salmon, halibut, and with the occasion addition of sheep. He said they bought pork sometimes, but mostly it was ground pork to add fat for sausage making. He said it wasn’t unusual to go for a month or longer having only wild game and fish and usually any non-wild meat was canned chicken breast, canned ham, or Spam. Interestingly, he was a huge Spam fan and said that when he was a kid that was THE big treat.

He said it took over a year to get used to the taste of beef to the point where it didn’t taste funny.
