Writing, in my opinion, does nothing. I wrote to Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Klobachar, and Franken. I received one response (auto response) from Franken. None of our letters are read or addressed.
January 24, 2013 at 10:00 pm #129112All, you can not write once and think your done. It is advertising your beliefs and it needs to be stated multiple times. Just like a TV ad. You don’t see it once, it is a message repeated over and over again. Nationally, you have more than 2/3 of the population living in a urban setting where they have been brainwashed to fear all guns. These are the voters that keep these nut cases in office, which is why these people take the political stands that they do.
BTW, if you read the article, there is a link to a FOX segment regarding Clinton’s comments. Interesting statementsJanuary 24, 2013 at 10:50 pm #129115I have a feeling those pushing for these laws are losing sight of the fact we have a vote and an issue that draws passion like few others will bring people to the voting poles.
johneePosts: 731January 25, 2013 at 4:25 pm #129119I think it’s worth spending time on careful contacts with the represenatives who are on the fence or close to it. Of which there are many.
Yes, Fienstien, Frankin, etc, are lost causes. They’re anti gun and want to see them eliminated.
Instead forcus on reps like the Democrats that have A ratings by the NRA and also Republicans that have less than an A rating and therefore might be prone to believing that giving some ground on gun control will actually fix the problem.
Also, don’t forget to focus on the REAL PROBLEM: Mentally ill individuals who are left untreated. These sick individuals are out there in society and nobody is helping them. Then they get guns and kill people and we ask what did the guns do to cause this? Wrong approach. Focus on the problem.

January 25, 2013 at 4:54 pm #129122Can anyone find a list of these guns? I keep looking for a copy of the bill and hearing about this bill. But have never seen what is stated in it. I’d like to see this list of “evil weapons.”
January 25, 2013 at 5:04 pm #129124Cnn had a list yesterday, but I can’t find it now.

January 25, 2013 at 6:33 pm #129129The good news. She doesn’t appear to have enough votes to get this out of the Senate. Even some Dems are backing away from this. Although I strongly encourage we keep writing our reps at all levels.

I like to believe that you are correct on this statement, but I believe that we are at a point in this country where there are far more people that have never shot a firearm, little less owned one. – than those who have or do. These people are often tought that all guns are bad and since the government also says so they must be.
January 25, 2013 at 6:57 pm #129131Once the number of “those” poeple surpases us we will be in trouble. Same goes for the people on Gvt assistance.
January 25, 2013 at 7:14 pm #129132No doubt guys. I can only hope our country continues to educate our youth and introduce the them to the outdoors and all it’s wonders. It’s ALL of our responsibility to recruit the younger generations.
It’s also promising for me as a father of 3 daughters, there are women out there who are willing to take on jack holes like Morgan.
January 25, 2013 at 10:59 pm #129134Speaking of De Fine Stein, Attila the Gun would caution “Beware the whoreds are coming”!
January 25, 2013 at 11:36 pm #129135Wife insisted I run spell check on my spelling of coming, so I luckily did!
