    **REWARD $500***

I am sad to share this, I lost Rosie at Noon on Sunday Duck Hunting. I was on Lake Onamia in Onamia MN on the south side of the lake. I was on an island about 60 yrds from the mainland and She swam out and went to the cattails on the mainland. I called her but she couldn’t hear me and just stood on the cattail shore. I walked my boat over and picked up my decoys and looked back and she wasn’t there. I drove out and grabbed the rest of my decoys and then drove and parked where she was at. She wasn’t there so I thought she had just wondered into the cattails looking for a duck. I wistled and yelled as I put my decoys away but she didn’t come. I started my motor and reved it a few times hoping that she would hear it and come but she didn’t. There were housed a couple hundred yrds south of the cattails and I thought that maybe she wondered that ways so I drove my boat to my truck loaded and drove to the road near the area. I walked out into the marsh looking but I wasn’t able to see any sign. I drove down the road and looked into the marsh again but no sign. I thought that maybe she wondered into the town, so I drove around the streets yelling and asking everyone I seen if they saw her. I went to several houses near the area asking as well as anyone that had a dog in the yard to see if she had been seen. I drove my boat back out up and down the shorline and parked back in the area where she was last at. I walked through the marsh again and looked on every rat house to see if she was in a trap but nothing. I drove back to my truck and drove around the neighborhood again. I called the police and left a message about her and spoke to several other people. I walked through the marsh again whistling and yelling but nothing. As it was getting dark I drove around the town again, went to the hospital and the bar asking but nothing.

I came home, hoping that I would get a call that night or early Monday but nothing. On Monday morning I went on Craiglist and Facebook.com/LDoMN, a site for lost dogs in Minnesota and filled out the form. I went back up to Onamia around 11, called the Sheriff, all the local vets and the humain society asking but oneone had seen her. I looked again through the marsh, drove around town, went to several more businesses, and spoke to several people knocking on doors. I drove to the cabin several miles away hoping she might have made it there but nothing. I spoke with the resort owner close by to watch if she comes.

She was wearing a chain collar that had a red tag with my phone number and (Missy) on it.

At this time I have not heard anything. I hope that she made it to someplace that she is safe.

Thanks for all of those that offered there support. I won’t stop looking for her.

She is a female chocolate lab by the name of Rosie.

The worst part is not knowing where she is so please help if you can or know anyone that can help.

On Tuesday afternoon, Vandaly mentioned that I should make posters and hang them around town and the area that I lost her so on Tues after school I made my 1 1/2 hr journey back to Onamia. I returned to the marsh with about and hour of good light left and searched through the thick cattails and grasses. The wind had finally subsided and the temp had warmed to about 38 degrees from the chilly 10 degrees that it had been the 2 night prior. I searched until dark and went to the many houses along the lake asking again if they had seen her and giving them a poster that I had made that had in print; a large pic of her, Missing, her name, my phone number, and a cash reward of $500, in hopes that now people would begin to help me search and pay closer attention.

I placed the posters on all sign posts in the area and on a tree next to the road near her dog bed with my t-shirt that I left. All of which could be seen from one of the houses overlooking the lake and where the homeowners were aware of Rosies disappearance. I also placed posters in town at most restaurants, bars, hardware stores-the town of Onamia is small, Lansing size so I was able to visit most businesses that night.

On my drive home it hit me that this is now the third night, its very cold out, the lake is iced over and still nobody has seen her. My insides just hurt not knowing what happened or even if she was still waiting someplace for me. Within a few minutes, I received a call from a gentleman named Joe. He said that he seen the poster in the Cederwood restaurant and called me right away. He explained that he thought he had seen a dog that looked like the poster picture of Rosie, just sitting, waiting as he went in and out of the post office on monday and that he was almost sure it was her from the looks. He mentioned that he thought it was unique that she was there sitting but nobody else was around. He then explained that today his wife thought that she had seen a dog, similar to the picture, walking by the library/depot around 4:00 today. Finally, he said that we really think it was her and that she is hanging around town, not to give up looking and that it would be worth coming back up.

On Wed. morning, I received a text from a women, Vicki that worked at the restaurant and she was going to go out with her male chocolate lab and look in the area. I called and spoke with Joe again and wanted to ask a few more details, he said that he had spoke to someone else and that they had thought they also had seen her near the post office on Monday.

So at 11:00 on Wed, Ket and her dog Bella and I drove back up. The day was warmer with little wind. I dropped Ket and Bella off and they began their search with a handful of posters. I then drove around the areas that were mentioned as possibly being seen at as well as stopping at the school, bus company, post office and anyone that I seen outside.

After a few hours I get a call, now about 3:30, to come and pick up Ket. She had spoken with several people and had not heard or seen a thing. My hopes were now lessoning but I wanted to at least find her. I descided that I would take Bella to the marsh and search one last time. We started our journey in, thick grasses, cattails, swamp and Bella on my heals, literally. She first wasn’t sure what to think being that she has never been in this “stuff” before and wanted to run back but realized that she was “in” and didn’t leave my heals. We walked through the thickest grasses, but all of it is thick, for about a 1/2 hr. and making it to a small area of higher ground about 30 yrds from the last spot that I had seen Rosie, 4 days earlier. I slowly scanned the area and stopped, Bella stuck her nose down in the grass, hurried past me about 10 feet, turned around, hurried back past me a couple feet, stopped, stuck her nose in the grass to one side of the trail and then stuck her nose into the other side of the trail. All of a sudden, about 10 feet from me in the thick grass something which I thought for a split second was a coyote started coming towards me. I yelled for Bella to get over here but she just kept her heard in the grass. The movement came towards us very quick and as it got about 2 feet away a little brown head popped out of the grass, My Rosie found me.
