I stumbled across this trap on the way to my stand last night. I’m not sure who would be trapping out there so I wouldnt know who to call. Thought it was interesting. And a little creepy!!

All traps in mn must be tagged. if not talk to the land owner and see if anyone has permission to trap

I didnt look too close to see if it was tagged. I texted one of the other guys that has permission to hunt this property and he did say that a guy has been trapping down by the river. So, I would think he has permission. It’s right on my trail that I walk in on and I wonder how many times I just missed stepping in it..

Aren’t traps suppose to be checked daily as per the regs? I realize they can chew there leg off in a short time but if he is checking them as he/she’s suppose to that could be very counter productive to what you’re trying to do.

Its a opossum foot and I agree I would discourage my buddy from trapping where I’m deer hunting. Mature deer won’t stay around with daily intrusion.

grinner!!! by the looks of the grass, I would guess that the swivels failed by getting all bound up with grass/weeds. I appreciate the the curiosity, but pics like this are often highjacked and used by the anti community.

I agree on the daily activity will affect mature deer movement. I trap my land during gun deer season, but trap placement is limitted to non intrusive areas
