Nice article, sounds like you have some great land. Good luck throughout the rest of the season. Any pictures of these bucks?

Awesome article Gregg, love reading your stuff!

You turned me on to some good hunting with the rattling you describe mid-Oct. Last year I had some great encounters, and plan to hit the woods tonight as well.

That battle scar on your blind will tell the tale every-time you sit in it, which makes for an awesome keepsake long after its service in the field is done. Good luck getting out there and putting an arrow in a big one!

This passion for hunting??? Better than dirt track racing???
I usually paper tune my arrows in the garage..not in the blind! Sorry man!
I know u will be putting the hammer down on a beast…it’s your passion! If not….it’s never a waste of our time…spending time in the woods! It;s what we love to do!

Thanks Joel – I hope all is well in your world!! I have still been hunting every day, morning and evening. Judging how they are coming in and the current cold snap, I am switching to all day hunts tomorrow. Bag a big one buddy!!

Hi Zimmy!! It has been too long!! I just read an article about your retirement from shooting pictures at the local tracks. Congrats, but I know you will be missed in a major way!
I hope you get to hunt and fish more though. Bag a big one!!

That was Doug Zimmer, Gregg! Doug is a photographer from the Rice Lake area. Had been shooting for over 30 years. I’m still shooting but just many for my Dad’s photo collection.
