I have been thinking about getting a wild game innovations cam just because of the price. I have a cuddeback and have had nothing but issues with it so I am staying away from them. how is the picture quality and battery life of the wild game cams. Thanks

I don’t have any first hand experience with these units. I know Chad from Pasha Lake was running a few this fall for bear camp. Hopefully he will see this post and reply with his experience.

In my opinion wild game are no good I tried a couple in past years.

I’d check out spy point cams I have played with every one they make and can’t complain. All are very simple to use battery life and pic quality are great.

Hey guys – sorry for a delayed response… moose hunters are keeping me on my toes…

I ran the Wild Game Trail cameras this fall for my bear hunts and absolutely couldn’t be happier. WG received a lot of flack with their original cameras and rightfully so. In fact, I was very skeptical when I first purchased mine (this wasn’t one camera I was considering) it was 25 of the dang things. However, the rep sold me on the fact WG now takes their cameras serious and have greatly improved things with these new gen cameras.

I ran the W6XDE and it delivered with every expectation! Good photos, good trigger speed (although I think they can improve), quality night shots, infra red which did not spook any animals (including wolves… which is a pretty significant statement) and, not one, but two bonuses… they came with a rechargeable battery pack and they were very cost competitive when compared to the other brands. When I do my budget this winter I am considering a purchase of 25 more… I am that happy with them.

Important note: I had guys operating these cameras that are… let’s say… technically challenged, and they figured them out. There are a lot of options – photo quality, trigger delay, video… but you can leave them right on the factory settings and they’ll deliver 99% of what hunters need.

I’ll post some pics and you can call me personally with questions 715 816 4161…

I have cuddes, bushnell, spy point and DLC covert cams. I’ve had tissues with all of them at one time or another EXCEPT DLC Covert cams. The MP6 is a sweet cam with the best battery life I’ve found in a cam. It’s an ir cam. If you want a whiteflash I highly recommend thier Reveal model BTW- I threw my spypoints in the garbage after 1.5 yrs of use.

covert or scout Guard I think that my coverts are the best cam for the money. I get 10-15,000 pics per set of batteries. probably 2000 20 second video’s per set of batteries

See the thread I started about this a few weeks back.

I almost bought the Wildgame Innovations, but was convinced to upgrade to Bushnell. I’m VERY glad I did.

So far, the Bushnell 5.0 MP has been flawless. Honestly, I can’t think of anything that’s lacking or that it could do better Night pics are great, day pics are great, battery life is great, trigger speed seems to be very good.

I can’t offer any advice about false triggers, I don’t have any camera to compare it to. It’s easy to view the pics on the screen and go straight to the ones that have deer on them. With the camera set to one pic every 20 seconds, I get multiple shots of most deer, so there always seems to be a decent pic. I might back this down to 1 shot every 15 just to capture even more now that I know the memory card doesn’t fill up.

One more thing. I’m VERY glad I got the AA battery camera. It’s just so much easier to carry an extra 4 AA batteries in case the camera is running low. So far, I’ve had the camera out 3 weeks and the batteries are still showing 100% on the meter.

well I went against my better judgement and stuck with cudde. I guess the fact that they are in my home state had the biggest influence just for turn around time if I do have issues. so far so good i got the attack IR they have come along way since the cudde capture. so many to choose from at gander it made my head spin lol

I don’t know if you can choose a bad one when you are looking in this price range. I’d sure like to try a Reconyx sometime, but when I can get 2-4 cameras for the same price, it’s hard to justify. Can’t wait to see some pics from the new camera.

I have about a dozen of various Wildgame cameras. The only reason was the price. Few ata store that was going under, few on ebay,…. So I have a variety from the IR6 down. I don’t gripe much about them since I picked them all up so cheap. But i don’t know if its the camera locations or just poor quality. I really haven’t been happy with the clarity. There fine for mid day sunny weather, but the IR doesn’t carry well, contrast is less than desireable, and a LOT of ???? pics.
The exception has been the video on the IR6. That I have been mostly happy with. If I were to pay retail price on them, i would want to look at maybe a step up???
