    …will be shot on sight!!!!

Just need to vent. The property I’ve had permission to hunt for the last 15 years has gone No Hunting this year due to some blaze orange wearing holes who trespassed and walked between the guys house and garage last fall. This is the place that both me and my son got our first deer, and is very special to us.

If its not your property, or you dont have permission to be there…stay the F off!!!

Fortunately, I do have access to other properties, but from now on I will ask no questions if I dont recognize them!!!

Why would the owners ostercize you after all these years because of some trespassing aho? It would be better for them when you were out there.

I honestly dont know. I spoke with him 2 months ago and he mentioned those guys last season. I explained that it wasnt me or my boy, and NO way would we be hunting that close to the house, and he gave me the thumbs up for this year. I got a call yesterday from the Father in law (his neighbor) that he doesnt want anyone out there this year. Not sure what changed, but Im incredibly hot over it right now!!!

I caught a guy on my grandmas 160 acres two years ago during shot gun season walking in to the woods with full camo. So I weny after him the closer I got the more orange he pulled out and put on. He said he had permision and has been hunting it for 15 years he said some name . Well ive been hunting it for almost 20 and my grandmas owned it for 40 so I told his to get in a polite way cause he had young kid with him and didnt want to get to carried away in front of the boy.

I’ve had the same happen with thousands of acres in SE Wisconsin. Farmers get PO’d at the couple of Scum Buckets and it ruins it for everyone. After enough times of getting disrepected, they close the door to EVERYONE. Good luck in your quest to find new grounds.

The absolute worst part is then only the trespassers hunt it. They are scum.

Sorry you lost your hunting privlidges on that property. To me, however, it sounds like an excuse. The brother-in-law’s cousins got to the owner and talked him into “family only” hunt this year. Happens all the time, unfortunately.

And just to clearify one thing. It is perfectly legal in Minnesota to enter even posted property without permission if you are attempting to recover a wounded game animal. Obviously, there are specific rules, but in the heat of the moment many hunters don’t know or don’t follow the rules. This is just a reminder to simmer down and act rationally if you see someone in blaze orange “trespassing” on your land.

IMO, this is just another reason to know the neighbors that hunt adjoinging properties. We have agreed to rules with our neighbors when it comes to going after wounded animals. We notify the neighbors first and we agree to assist other parties in recovering the animal quickly and with minimal disturbance and maximum safety.
