Wis chippewa have declared they ARE shooting an elk today Sept 13. They are not concerned with the restoration program or state laws. The DNR has already admitted they would lose in court so its doubtful they would even issue a citation. WOW. 
I think this is just the beginning of what we will see from tribes exercising their perceived rights in the northern portions of Mn and Wi. It’s just another reason it’s imperative to support Steve Fellegy and his mission.
The case may be based around walleyes, but it has far reaching ramifications for both fisherman and hunters!
Hopefully the matter in Mn is heard by a court that “has both eyes and ears open”, otherwise, you folks in MN will be in the same boat as we are in Wisconsin. Just be smarter about it than the people were in Wisconsin, and hope for the best.
