Looking at a new rig, been a chevy guy for long time just wondering if anyone has the new F150 with V6 ecoboost how you like it what kind of gas mileage your getting vs what’s advertised. Not a big fan of chevy shutting cylinders down to help save gas. Anyother input would be great.

new F150 with V6 ecoboost = attorney and lemon law!

I won’t own another ford as long as I live unless it is given to me for a demo derby. That aside, I see so many posts with issues on the V6 EB engine. I didn’t own the ford in question, but hope that you do your homework before buying.

I don’t own one. I’ve got two buddies with them, they love em.

I love my 5.4. It’s always hard to switch brands. Good luck in your choice.

I couldn’t even tell you what the advertised numbers, or the chevy options are. But I drove my old mans eco boost for about two weeks and was getting in the 22 range (4-5 tanks). Around 75% commuting on 55mph and 25% in town.

The way i look at it is why would you want to support a company that HAS to get bailed out by the government?? A large company like that, that cant even keep itself afloat. No thanks…General Motors=Government Motors

BTW, I just bought a 2010 F-150 with the 5.4 and love it.

Too bad FORD took money from Uncle Sam in the 1st go around in 2009 or your logic might hold some truth… looks like you like gov’t funded companies too (geez, do a LITTLE research first)

    To answer the question…RAM HEMI

I’ve got a 2011 EcoBoost Super Crew with 19,000 miles and love the truck. I’m averaging 18 to 20 mpg on the highway and 14 to 16 mpg towing a 3000# boat. My last truck was an F-150 with a 5.4 and it was a great truck and I owned a 99 and 01 Chevy before that and don’t have one bad thing to say about the GM trucks either. Take one for a test drive you will be impressed with the power, interior room and the ride.

I have a 2011 Chevy 1500 and like it so far. The first 20k have been trouble free and I can pull anything I need. I will say my father in law has the eco boost F150 and it’s been rock solid for him as well. I enjoy the extra room in the Ford compared to my Chevy. It would come in handy with two car seats. I keep track of my mileage on PAPER every time I fill up as does my father in law. I average 21.3MPG @ 58MPH. 17.4MPG @ 68MPH and 19.7MPG @ 74MPH. Unfortunately for me I am on the interstate going 68MPH 95% of the time. I notice a variance in mileage depending on where I fill up. I get the best mileage at Cenex compared to BP, Holiday, and Kwik Trip. My father in law only does highway driving but he is averaging 22MPG @ 60MPH. Drive them all including the Ram’s and pick what fits you best.

I’m getting close and it would be hard for me to switch brands after the oustanding service my GM’s have given me.
