Kicked in the N*ts this Morning

I have been so pumped about the limited entry elk tag I drew back home in SW Sask. in the Cypress Hills. This tag is weapon of choice(rifle, bow, muzzle,or cross bow).In my 33yrs of hunting I have never drawn an elk tag down there, and with our DNR dept. finally managing it over the last few years there are getting to be some very big bulls. So I am pumped… until this morning. I have been shooting my bow pretty much everyday since beginning of July and I have been shooting nothing but broadheads(100gr G5 Montecs) for the last 3 weeks. This morning on about arrow 30 as I drew back I heard something that didn’t sound right, I let down checked everything over and it seem fine. I drew back again and heard same noise but a little louder(oh oh this can’t be good) as I was letting down I noticed 2-10″ cracks on my upper left limb of my PSE Dream Season. F***!!!. I won’t be able to get this fixed in time for next week, and to make matters worse every archery shop I talked to in Sask. and Alberta about a new DS Evo did not have one because the PSE distributor is out of them till early next week. Hopefully the new one will be at my parents house when I get home next Thursday so I can get to work on it. It looks like I will be scouting and hunting with a rifle the first few days but at least I will be hunting. On the good side othe story the wife didn’t seem overally upset that I am dropping close to a grand on a new bow. Maybe she knows how much this means to me or maybe it’s just more ammunition for a later date.

Women are sneaky like that… At least mine is.

Glad nothing worse happened. I was expecting limb pieces in the arm or something worse preventing you from hunting.

Good luck getting the new bow in time!

Lifetime warranty on PSE to but if the distributors in Canada don’t have the parts it doesn’t matter what make of bow you shoot it will be at least 2 weeks for parts to get here because they have to cross the border.

Same with PSE, I am the original owner so I am not worried about the warranty.

I hope your new piece shows up in time and tuning goes well. Not sure how much of this you have done in the past but paper tuning will be the most difficult part for someone who doesn’t work on bows all day. Best of luck with the bow and the hunt.

Have you heard back from PSE on what could have caused the problem?
