I haven’t gotten PI in years–literally, I think 1998 was the last time–till I started getting itchy ankles yesterday. Fun, fun, fun.

Yes, I know what you mean. I hadn’t had it for years and then I was pulling up some weeds that were growing behind my shed. And my hand started to itch. So I look down and I’ve been pulling up poison ivy for about the last 4-5 handfuls of weeds. . . not good.

I’ve had great luck with Zanfel to treat the rash. It isn’t cheap (available OTC at any pharmacy), but it really, really works.

I usually get it every year. Sometimes skipping a year. So far this year has been clean. There is some crazy cool over the counter stuff out there in case you didnt know. My go to is Tecnu. It removes the oil so the rashes wont continue to grow and you wont spread the ivy oil anywhere else on your body. Sounds like there some good stuff for the rash itself.

But sadly, in the end, I usually end up with a rash that last several weeks. The hottest water you can stand from the tap is orgasmic and usually takes the intense itch away for a while.

Ha ha ha. There’s a biggun right near our boathouse. I walked down to the dock yesterday with a bag to gather some trash from my boat. As I walked past the boathouse, the wife asked, “Are you going to pull out that poison ivy plant?”

    Ha! Yeah right, honey.
