These things are getting a lot of attention and I’m afraid something sweeping is coming our way in the near future concerning gun laws. We all say it cant happen in American but if the majority wants them gone they will find a way to make it happen. For the first time I’m a little worried.

When the jackazz down here opened up on the muslins, a few of the media idiots right a way started the third degree slanted questions on “Is it time to have more restrictions on guns?”
Most ridiculous concept I have ever heard. The FBI, SWAT, Military, and so on will tell you that random acts of violence will always be the most difficult to prevent and defend. Criminals don’t give a rats rear end about gun laws/restrictions. It only makes it easier for them if they know the law abiding citizen is unarmed.

Ironic of timing. When I was working at Cabelas last weekend, there was a gal from England with friends(local) visiting the store. She asked if it was ok to take a picture of all the guns at the counter because no one gets to see a collection like this at home. She went on to say how the majority of the police are not even allowed to carry, and the gangs there are taking over. You may recall the order for all citizens to turn in their firearms and all the antique collectable guns plus new/old were being chopped up, melted down and turned to scrap steel. Anyways, pretty pathetic when your own police are terrified of gangs and can not defend themselves or the public.
I talk a lot of smack when kidding around with my friends; but here is one thing that I have never been more serious about. They’ll get my guns when they pry them out of my cold stiff fingers after I’m dead. I don’t have a lot in the means of quantity, but quality and a boat load of reloading supplies are always in my stock pile!

I have some friends in the military and some in the police department. All are avid hunters and shooters and all say the same thing. “who is going to take my/your guns? I am the military/police and I am not going to come take your guns or my own.”.

It could possibly be an ugly situation for America.

That’s really the one issue with a majority driven politics. If the majority tells politicians to do “this”, “that” will be ignored. Ask the fine minority trappers in Colorado how they enjoy trapping everything with a live box? Their traps were outlawed by the majority of people whom don’t trap. Just like gun laws that are written by non gun owners.

But gun owners/users (police/military) are the ones who would be asked to come take my guns.

They also took an oath to uphold the law…..I’m sure there were many sportsmen in Eurpe that gave up their firearms to be law abiding citizens

On the news tonight they said some of the wounded were from stray police rounds. They weren’t sure how many the perp fired

Not this sportsman. My guns will magically disappear at the very least. “honest officer, they were stolen. No more guns in this house.”.

Don’t get me wrong, it will take prying them out of my cold stiff fingers!

Freedom comes at a price. There are innocent victims in countries WITH gun control, sometimes even more so than here in America! It’s tragic. I don’t mean to belittle the loss of anyone’s life but this IS life! I feel badly for the victims and their families but the solution of disarming is NOT a good one. We will still lose innocent lives. Even if the errant shots of police officers took some innocent lives, it’s the fault of the attacker for creating the hazard. Seek your vengeance on him, not on the weapons used.

Believe me, if they ever succeed in banning gun ownership, some “mass killer” isn’t going to stop at the challenge of getting a weapon to use. He or she might become a chemist and use biological attacks towards entire shopping complexes and business centers instead! Bombs are more common in countries with gun bans.

The fact is this: A nut job is a nut job and all we can do is do our best to catch them before they succeed in anything! When tragedy strikes, stand up, and fight back as a united people. Leave blame and “fix it” propositions to the psychologically ignorant.

Well said! I never understood the reasoning that if not enough people are obeying the laws that somehow MORE laws will fix that. I read memorable line over on the fishing side but I don’t recall who said it. Something about “outlawing guns so only outlaws will have them”. It made me laugh while frowning. I hope our government isn’t that stupid.

Well, my neighbors are. I got in a heated discussion last weekend at the bonfire about this very subject. They believe anything semi-automatic should be banned. Shotguns, pistols, rifles, all of them. These are two guys who are educated, good people. But when I hear “We will be safer if criminals can’t get semi-auto weapons”, my blood tends to boil.
