Where is the best place to get them? I hunt a property where i have pics of several different strangers walking around. I do not own the property, it’s owned by a 97 year old widower-so she can’t really control anything. But im tired of catching these people on camera, and i don’t have the time to go asking around for who they are. I was just going to put up signs because i think this might be sufficient. Thoughts?

Fleet Farm should have them. If not, I would try Tractor Supply or Northern Tool.

I’ve found that businesses that cater to farmers will usually carry the “No Trespassing” over the “No Hunting” signs.

My thought is they wont stop many of the people already trespassing but its a start.

It is illegal for you to post that property without her permission. I am sure you have it but I just wanted to give you an FYI.

    Why is it illegal?

Get her permission, preferably in writing. Get “NO TRESPASSING” signs, like said, not the No Hunting or trapping… they are worded all wrong post every 50 feet and on all corners. Put your name and phone number on each sign. When they trespass, you can then prosecute by law.

Copied/pasted from the MN DNR Website.

To be legally posted, land must have signs:
    — Posted once each year that state “no trespassing” or similar terms either: 1) along the boundaries every 1,000 feet or less, or in wooded areas where boundaries are less clear, at intervals of 500 feet or less; or 2) at the primary corners of each parcel of land and at access roads and trails at points of entrance to each parcel, except corners only accessible through agricultural land need not be posted.
    — With lettering at least 2-inch high and the signature or the legible name and telephone number of the owner, occupant, lessee, or authorized manager. An unauthorized person may not post land with signs prohibiting outdoor recreation or trespass.

Ummm… if the owner does not want it posted, you have no right to do it

So it’s ok for others to trespass without her knowing then?

No, but its not your right unless you have a signed lease agreement or a signed paper stating that you are the land manager.

Believe me, I can’t stand trespassers but you cannot just start throwing signs up. If she has given you the permission just talk with her about it. Just my .02 cents

Can you imagine if anybody could post anything, even if they don’t own it ? I had guy at a previous place, that posted 20 acres right next to mine, that wasn’t his. Some elderly lady in a nursing home owned it. I found out who she was, paid a visit and got permission to retrieve an animal if need be and even to hunt it… she knew NOTHING of the guy who posted it, not even who he was
