Hard to beat a Muzzy…though my buddy has taken a few elk with SlickTricks. I might try them myself this September (Idaho).

I’d say whatever broadhead flys good out of your bow to the range you feel comfortable shooting. Any of todays top of the line heads will work. I use Thunderheads 100gr.

This is a good topic, as I will be venturing out west once again this year. I will be using standard 100 grain Slick Tricks, since this is what I use for deer around here anyway. I do not see any reason to switch, especially since the standard 100 was designed for bigger game to begin with, according to the company.
I’ve contemplated switching to a bigger, heavier broadhead, but have opted out of it. Hopefully I get to find out how they perform!

X2 stick with what ya got.. there is no reason to change unless your having problems with flight of arrow!

I use muzzy and will never switch!! Not that there arnt other heads out there just as good, I have total confidence in them.. If your not second guessing your setup you will do just fine.. Confidence is the #1 most important factor too bow hunting in my opinion!!

Congrats on drawing the tag! I can’t wait to read about your adventure this fall. I’m extremely jealous. Elk with a bow is my top bucket list item.

As for broadheads. Are you comfortable with your arrow flight today? If so, I wouldn’t change anything. If not, then it’s time to start shooting a few different ones. I’m not sure about up nort, but some states out west do not allow mechanical heads. Although, I also believe some states have come around to accepting them more.

    Good luck this fall!!
