Had a great trip to Alaska from June 22-29. We didn’t get to fish as much as I would have liked due to rough seas, but when we did fish, we hammered them pretty good. I know I’ve got a pile of Halibut in my freezer.

This was my home away from home while there. Rough living to say the least.

This was big fish for the trip, caught on the first day. 80+lbs of but.

The best part of the trip was watching the bears on the shorelines, seeing the seals, whales and porpoises each day. The critters are just amazing up there. Sorry I don’t have more photos, but after the first day, it pretty much rained constantly. I was invited back for a spring black bear hunt with this crew. Now, how do I squeeze that into my plans.

Kooty, my wife and I were up there the exact time as you! Only went fishing once (from Seward) and just pounded the fish. The rock fish were on a feeding frenzy and we caught two dandy ling cod. Only one halibut, but we couldn’t keep them anyway in our boat.

It was truly an amazing place.

    Hope you had fun!

Absolutely 100% JEALOUS! Looks and sounded like a blast, glad to hear you’re back suffering with the rest of us in the blast-furnace.

That is awesome Kooty! You would have to want to be miserable to not have a blast on a trip like that . Looking forward to hearing some of the stories.

Here is a link to some more photos. The cinnamon phase black bear was out several days. I’d like to put him/her on the wall.
