Hey folks, I’ve had an idea along with my buddy Jeremy about getting more people involved in our personal website. Don’t get me wrong, I’m NOT trying to take this away from IDO whatsoever.

I’m a regular on the IDOFishing side and James Holst always does a great job with producing quality fishing videos. My idea is to get something like that going here on the IDOHunting side.

I know in the past couple years the excitement of videoing deer, turkey, elk, etc hunts as attracted more people to the “sport” of videoing.

My main point here for the folks and hunters of IDO and the management, is that I’ve always wanted to see hunters post and record video for us to see, much like of IDOFishing.

If we can get somewhere with this, I have two cameras, both of which have excellent videoing quality. I would be willing to make trips to other hunters farms and properties to video your deer hunt if anyone would be interested in this.

I know this is a long shot, but I think it would be really neat for us to be able to see what others have been doing in the woods and in the stand!

If management could post back on what you guys believe that would be great. Otherwise, I want to hear what your guy’s opinions are on this as I would like to see where we can go with this!

If the management allows, heres my website. You guys can check out some of our videos, and this is where I think it would be cool for everyone to be showing off their personal hunts.

I would love to see a bunch of Ido members personal footage! I have been trying to film my own hunts for the last 3 years and have caught some pretty cool stuff on tape (including 2 kills). My problem is editing the footage , I have no idea where to begin but would be willing to try with a little direction. Maybe we could get an amateur film forum and see what others are doing , that almost sounds dirty . I think it is a solid idea but would concentrate on finding a place for the videos within the Ido URL. It would also be ideal if management did not have to dedicate lots of time to edit, help or moderate constantly. Those are my thoughts, good idea dem deer and I will check out your site when I get to a real computer

My brother is crazy good with editing footage! If anything, you guys could send us some of your footage, we’ll edit, and then show you what we came up with? I don’t know, just a thought i’d be willing to take advantage of.

I just think we could have some fun with this!

    Todders, where do you hunt?

I’d have to ask my brother, but there is a way as my dad sends us footage from northern mn sometimes for us to edit. I will check back with you tonight on that.

We use windows live movie maker and an editing software that we downloaded with our camera. Very neat, lots of options, and lots of confusion for beginners. Once you get used to it, the features are endless with so many editing possibilites.

As far as the turkey contest, we are currently editing some footage of a turkey hunt last week that we were lucky enough to record on camera!
