Here’s a note from Kaden’s mom…..
There have been some things during this treatment that have been very characteristic of past treatments while other things have been quite uncharacteristic. Kaden is clearing methotrexate very well…levels were 5.55 at 24-hours and 0.48 at 48-hours. There is a very good chance that he could clear by tomorrow night! He hasn’t been sick once. Both of these are characteristic. On the other hand, Kaden hasn’t spent countless hours playing the Wii or Xbox!! He’s been getting into board games and such! He played Connect 4 with Grandma Linda tonight and played a Memory Match game with Logan yesterday. He even let the nurse take him to the playroom while Logan showered. And he hasn’t eaten one hot dog or cheeseburger!! He has also fallen asleep between 6-6:30pm every night! These are the uncharacteristic things…all of which are good! It has also been confirmed that we will be guests at the September 25 Twins vs. Yankees game. We will definitely need to go shopping for Twins apparel! We’ve watched the Twins against the Mariners the last two nights and it’s pretty cool to see Joe Mauer and Danny Valencia on TV after having met them in person. After we got the confirmation email about the game I realized that we had inadvertantly chose Sept. 25 for the game. There are two things about that date: 1) it is almost one year to the day that Kaden was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and 2) it’s Grandma Judy’s and Uncle John’s birthday!. I am also pleased to report that Tj and Ruby are getting along wonderfully and instead of having puppy barking wars they now nap together on the living room floor. This treatment is almost in the books…up next…THE LAST TREATMENT starting Friday!.
The fund raiser that Jamie and Logan did well exceeded her goals. There is a 5K run/walk on June 9th that the entire Tjossem family will be participating in (Even Kaden) If anyone would like to come and be a part of it, send me a PM and I’ll get you the information.
Again to All of you on IDO, your prayers have been fantastic. Even if your not a person of prayer, your thoughts go a long, long way. Kaden is proof of that.
