Lip, with a hula popper?…..I could understand a jig and plastic or a spinner bait. But Lip, a hula popper? Shame on you!!! Your next Mille report will be about you pulling poppers behind boards with 2 oz snap weights using the 50/50 method…shame, shame, shame Just kidding of course, maybe.

Who are you trying to kid Dean? You know what we want for walleye long before we do! We just wait till you hit us over the head with a new bait and then we go out and catch fish on them and think we have found a new “secret bait”. You are the “walleye whisperer” and if you recommend it—that’s good enough for me

Anyone seeing any morels pop up yet in western WI around or near Pierce County? I got a few open hours on Saturday afternoon and figured I should try looking. Thanks!

I would be suprised if they are since that is the same longitude I am looking in MN. Considering where the temps have gone I’m guessing 1-3 weeks which might put it very close to normal. We will see.

Picked about 2lbs here in La Crosse county yesterday. Still nothing spectacular, but they should really be popping in about 1-2weeks?

Finally some much needed rain. This should kick the shrooms into overdrive if we get some sun next week.

This could actaully time just right for me to take some up to opener fish camp. That would be awesome.

Probly needs to Be a Morel Mushroom forum here. Can’t wait to see what the art looks like on that one!
I may even get into it a little this year. Found some as a kid but never tasted one.

There was a guy on the “buy line” radio show out of Black River falls (99.7)this morning. He had lots and was looking to sell them for $5 a pound. Not sure if they were picked locally, but my guess is they were. I haven’t found any yet…

Another week I hope. We have the moisture. Just need a little warmth!
